We've always taken great pride in what we put in our bottles. Now even more so.

2010 World Whiskey of the Year, Jim Murray's Whiskey Bible

Eagle Rare 17-Year-Old
90 Proof “Rye Recipe” Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
"This deep, burnished-gold whiskey has a somewhat fragrant nose and the aromas develop an almost wine-like character, with a hint of almonds lurking in the backdrop. The body is big and silky and the palate is far spicier than the nose leads you to believe, but there are also violet notes here, along with a touch of caramel and a hint of old leather. The finish is very leathery and very long. This whiskey earned a great rating, but lovers of previous bottlings of Eagle Rare should know that this seems to bear a completely different style - it's far greater than the 10-year-old."

William Larue Weller
Uncut & Unfiltered Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
The initial nose impact is full of cotton candy and black walnuts. It develops into luscious dried fruit sweetness that is in perfect harmony with soft vanilla, powdered sugar and cinnamon spices. Upon sipping it starts with a smooth full mouth feel, and as it drifts back on the palate —BOOM— an explosion of big bourbon flavors. Oak, smoky sweetness and candied fruit dance across your tongue. This quaff is not without heat as it warms the senses without flame. It's a hearty drink, but the finish is very fresh and invigorating. It takes a back seat to none.

Blanton's Single Barrel

93 Proof “Rye Recipe” Kentucky Straight Bourbon
The Original Single Barrel Bourbon, Blanton's is a winner of five gold medals in international spirits competitions

"The nose is very deep and satisfying. The taste has a masterful start with powerful dry vanilla notes in perfect harmony with hints of honey amid the strong caramel. The long, creamy caramel holds the fort until some late soft peppers arrive to spice things up. The underlying dryness amid the spice and honey really makes for bourbon that should suit all tastes and one to keep the discerning whiskey drinker almost purring with delight."

Buffalo Trace
Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Nose: Outstanding aroma, kicked off by a spicy prickle. Satisfyingly deep, gently vanilla-ed and molassed with even a sprig of sweet mint.
Palate: A rip-roaring waxy sweetness checked by a big buildup of vanilla-rich oak. Corn is chewy, and rye offers a rich textured background.
Finish: Dries at last as the oak takes command, but rye offers extra depth and a layer of bitterness, as does a lingering licorice.
Comment: Big, moody, uncompromising and complex beyond belief.
"One of the world's great whiskeys."
Jim Murray, Whisky Magazine

Burnished gold in color, this bourbon brings a mélange of aromas to the nose: honey, vanilla, oak, toffee and a suggestion of coriander are all there. The body is big, and on the palate, this becomes a very spicy, masculine whiskey with a complex spicy mustiness and notes of leather, tobacco, overripe oranges and a surprising smokiness not often found in a bourbon.
"The finish is long and lush."

Eagle Rare
90 proof “Rye Recipe” Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
"The bright honey/topaz color shows sparkling bronze; core features impeccable purity; the early aromas include gentle grain, toasted honey-wheat bread and tobacco leaf. With aeration, the aroma quickly transforms into a pedal-to-the-metal Bourbon bouquet as evolved scents of ripe banana and charcoal tweak the olfactory sense in the middle stage whiffs—fragrances of lanolin, almond butter, melon and oil accent the toastiness beautifully—it's a somewhat restrained, or better, understated aroma, but I sense lots of power lying just beneath the surface; my, my, my, what have we here—in the mouth, this oily, toasty beauty seduces the taste buds at palate entry with dry flavors of cereal grain and mild oak resin—the mid-palate tastes explode on the tongue in unabashedly sweet and oily flavors of black raisins, grapefruit, charred oak and candied almonds; the finish is long, corny sweet, moderately fiery and lasciviously oily; easily one of the most tactile yet assertive and expressive Bourbons I've tasted in the last two years; fasten your seat belts."
Paul Pacult, The Spirit Journal

Elmer T. Lee
90 proof "Rye Recipe" Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Medium gold in color; the nose brings notes of butterscotch, clover, vanilla and old leather. The big body bears a palate with an almost wine-like character that balances intense fruits, honey and vanilla with a light spiciness that shows off the distiller's craft. The finish is long and warm.

Old Charter
Charter 101
101 proof “Rye Recipe” Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
The rich amber gold color is the first impact delivered by this whiskey. The next force to make an impression is from the incredible body and mass of the drink itself. Bold and rich whiskey flavors such as toffee, caramel and oak strike the palate. Subtle flavors like vanilla and molasses are also present, but even they are shouting. The finish is sweet and fresh with a suggestion of green tea and cotton candy. With a touch of water or on the rocks, it is tamed as much as a mustang spirit can be. Indulgent and velvety flavors abound, but a powerhouse is felt lurking on the tongue, ready for a taste adventure. In a cocktail, this bourbon whiskey bows to no mixer. Instead it invites the cocktail ingredients along on a tango of flavor, presenting them as seasonings on an extravagant bourbon experience. This is a bourbon for the extrovert who wants a whiskey that has enough personality to keep up.

Old Charter 8-Year-Old
80 proof "Rye Recipe" Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Medium gold in color, this shows a complex, well-balanced nose that shows both dry, peppery notes and a rich honey-vanilla sweetness. The body is medium, leaning toward full, and the palate follows the nose being at once dry and sophisticated with some tingly spicy notes and also showing a sweet side full of toffee, vanilla and a rich oakiness. The finish is very long and very satisfying.

This is a well-crafted Bourbon with a balance that's hard to beat. Sip it neat, on the rocks, or in a Manhattan cocktail.

Old Taylor
80 proof "Rye Recipe" Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
The time spent in a barrel does the namesake proud. The nose is clove candy and earthy grains percolating through the bourbon overtones. The palate is danced through the caramel, oak and vanilla to a promenade of coffee, molasses, and allspice. Its bourbon, but the rye grain makes sure it is noticed bringing black pepper, and a slow burn to the finish.

Stagg Jr.
George T. Stagg built the most dominant American distillery of the 19th century, during a time known as the Gilded Age of Bourbon. Uncut and unfiltered, this robust bourbon whiskey ages for nearly a decade and boasts the bold character that is reminiscent of the man himself.

Rich, sweet, chocolate and brown sugar flavors mingle in perfect balance with the bold rye spiciness. The boundless finish lingers with hints of cherries, cloves and smokiness.

Old Rip Van Winkle Handmade Bourbon

Van Winkle Special Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
90.4 Proof "Wheat Recipe" Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Van Winkle Special Reserve is the perfect combination of age and proof. This sweet, full-bodied whiskey has been described by some as “nectar.” We agree! The 12 years of aging and medium proof of 90.4 seem to be just right in creating a very pleasant drink of whiskey. This fine whiskey can compete with any excellent cognac as an after-dinner drink. The overall impression is rich and deep. Well crafted… elegant, stately... balanced beautifully...

Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve
107 proof Wheat Recipe Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
15 Year-Old
This bourbon represents a younger expression of our famous 20 year old Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve. The whiskey in this bottle was produced according to our exclusive family wheated-recipe and was specially selected from barrels in the heart of our warehouses here in Kentucky. It has remained undisturbed for 15 years to age in deep-charred heavy oak…untouched by human hands…unhurried by time. I am proud to set my family name upon it.

Rated 98 by World's Spirit Championships

Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve
The nose is intensely fruited but also bears a tantalizing citrus zest note. The body is huge and almost chewable and the palate is tremendously buttery with some sherry notes, a dash of dried fruits and some rich, creamy vanilla. The finish is long and elegant.

Pappy Van Winkle's Family Reserve
95.6 proof Wheat Recipe Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

This is the only 23 year old Kentucky Bourbon sold in the country today. There are only 3,000 bottles of this very rare 23 year old bourbon. It takes generations of distilling know-how to produce a rare, well-aged bourbon like this. Only the most careful and expensive distilling method can be used to create a whiskey as special as this one.

These barrels were carefully placed in the heart of the warehouse to receive the most benefit from the variable Kentucky seasons. Each season, the whiskey passes through the thin, caramel layer of the charred white oak barrels, picking up an enormous amount of color and flavor.

This fine old whiskey should be enjoyed neat or over ice. "Pappy" used to say, "why ship water all over the country." In keeping with his theory and practice, Julian Van Winkle has chosen to offer this whiskey at a higher than usual 95.6 proof. This higher proof allows all the incredible flavors to come out with each tasting. This truly is an older and wiser "Pappy."

W.L. Weller

W.L. Weller, 12-Year-Old
90 proof "Wheated" Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
“The deep bronze color beautifully reflects the light -- perfect purity; the initial nosing pass finds fully nature aromas of lanolin, almond oil, and creamed corn -- in the middle stage sniffing, following several minutes of air contact, a toasty oaky/vanilla perfume takes the aromatic helm -- the fourth and last whiff highlights the oily grainy quality that firm and pungent -- a high-spirited, lusciously toasty and animated bouquet that has top-notch bourbon written all over it; the dry, complex, and toasty palate entry…the mid-palate flavor profile is heavily wheated (like Wheat Thins crackers) oily, layer, moderately sweet and sap-like; the finish is long, sweet, oaky, and intensely grainy…all for an unbelievable price.”
Paul Pacult's Spirit Journal

W.L. Weller Special Reserve, 7-Year-Old

White Dog

Mash #1
In Kentucky, buffalo carved a pathway followed by America's first explorers. Those brave pioneers distilled whiskey using traditional methods and drank it right off the still. They called it White Dog. This raw distillate was clear, un-aged and had a hint of sweet corn. Later distillers discovered this spirit was perfect for aging - creating what we know today as fine Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. We're still making whiskey on the spot where ancient buffalo once crossed the Kentucky River and following centuries of time-honored distilling tradition. Enjoy this White Dog the way Americans did more than 200 years ago.

Wheated Mash
William Larue Weller was a distilling pioneer. He took a traditional bourbon recipe and substituted wheat where rye was normally used. This created a soft, mellow spirit perfect for sipping. Before this whiskey ever made its way into the barrel for aging it was drank straight off the still. It was called White Dog. This raw distillate was clear, un-aged and hinted of wheat and sweet corn. Enjoy this wheat recipe White Dog the way William Larue Weller and early Americans did more than a century ago.

Rye Mash
Dating back to George Washington and the birth of a nation is a proud history of crafting whiskey. Some of the first whiskey distilled in America was Straight Rye. Keeping with the traditions of America's founding fathers, Buffalo Trace Distillery offers this raw, clear, un-aged and high-proof distillate right off the still. The taste has a hint of spicy rye. This whiskey is known as White Dog. It was later discovered this spirit was perfect for aging and gave way to what we today know as Straight Rye Whiskey. Enjoy this White Dog the way early Americans did more than 200 years ago.
